Kogi Taco Truck

Last week my parents gave me the tip off that the Kogi Korean BBQ Taco Truck was going to be in Long Beach on Thursday! I have heard nothing but good things about this strange new food phenomenon, so I dragged some friends down to 2nd street at 10:30 at night to see what all the hype was about.

The verdict: Amazing! We chatted with some guys ahead of us in line, got some recommendations, and everything we had was excellent. I especially liked the black jack quesadilla, and I can't wait to try more of their little tacos! yuuuuum.

a light meal

A few nights ago, Trina and I were craving veggies after a week of scavenging around school, so we made some tasty artichokes and a caprese salad (with Buffala mozzarella, heirloom tomatoes and fresh basil from our very own basil plant (that I haven't killed yet!)
And today we brought the crock pot to the BFA studio, filled it with black beans, kidney beans, chick peas, chopped tomoatoes, sauted onions and ground turkey, and in a matter of hours, we had delicious chili! Perfect snack before the crit, and it made the studio smell so nice...Buon Appetito!

hungry...

The crazy beginnings of school this week have been emphasizing the starving artist more than the gourmet! But soon I will be spicing up brown paper bag lunches and quickn'easy dinners! I'm still finishing pasta puttanesca leftovers, yum! Life is busy busy, but good.
